GLOSSARY

Credit Types:

CPA= Cost Per Action. This means the user has to take action before you are paid, such as sign up for an offer.

CPM= The amount of revenue earned per 1000 visitor views of an ad. Graphical banners as well are commonly used type of ad for this purpose. Most popups, exits, popunders, layers and interstitials also pay this way.

PPC (aka CPC)= The amount of revenue earned each time a user clicks on an ad.

Ad Types:

Banners= graphical banners. Standard size is 468X60 px, but can be other sizes.

Skyscrapers= graphical banners or contextual ads which are tall and narrow. The most common size is 120X600 px.

Leaderboards= graphical banners or contextual ads which are wide and short. A common size is 720X90 px.

Contextual= a banner or ad which is in text form rather than graphical. Google Adsense is the most commonly seen contextual ad.

Text link= a plain text ad in hyperlink form.

Popup= an ad in page form which pops up in front of the user's browser.

Popunder= an ad in page form which pops up behind the user's browser.

Exit= an ad in page form which pops up on the user's screen after they have left the page.

Layer= aka flyin ad= a usually small ad in page form which slides or flies into view in front of the user's browser. This type of ad bypasses popup blockers.

Interstitial= a full page ad which forces the user to view itself before the user can see the page they are trying to visit.

Bursts= an animated banner which flies across the page and encourages interaction with the user.

Store= a pre-made page embedded with the affiliate's links intended to sell products for commissions.
